Hi! I’ll probably introduce myself to you as Cheryl, but you can call me Chey (pronounced “shea”). Chey is the nickname my sister gave me, and I hated it at first. You know when you tell people you hate something, and then they do it more just to bug you? Well everyone started calling me Chey, and after a short while I grew to love it!
My husband Jeremy is one of my second shooters, but he’s usually pretty busy with Physical Therapy school, so I have a few other second shooters I rely on who are just as awesome!
I started my wedding photography career in 2006. My unique style has its roots in Telecommunication Arts/Journalism. I worked for a local television station as a reporter, editor, camera person, and anchor, which taught me many aspects of telling a visual story.
My passion for photography began with capturing images for my high school yearbook, and after graduating from the University of Georgia, soon evolved into helping people capture some of the most emotional days of their lives.
As you can see from my own Trash the Dress portrait shown-- I LOVE to try new and crazy things! My passion is fueled by my love of learning and constantly trying to improve my skills. My favorite brides are the ones who love photography and are willing to do pretty much anything for a great shot! I have been so lucky to work with a few very talented photographers such as Linda Edmonds, Dwight Flegel, and Shanci Robinson over the past years. I continuously attend photography classes and photoshop seminars to further my education and keep up with this ever-changing industry.
